Chi McBride a récemment co-produit avec Nicolas Cage les film de Jerry Bruckheimer"Gone in 60 Seconds" et "The Kid," qui celui-ci a été co-produit avec Bruce Willis. Un petit aperçu de ces autres longs métrages: "The Frighteners," "Hoodlum," "Mercury Rising," "The Distinguished Gentleman," le nominé aux oscars "What's Love Got To Do With It," "The Great White Hype" et "Magicians."

Chi est bien connu par les téléspectateurs pour son rôle de portier très intelligent et philosophe dans "The John Larroquette Show." Les critiques l'ont aussi acclamé pour son rôle dans la production des frères Hudlin "Tang". Plus tôt, il avait aussi joué le rôle de Bundini Brown dans "Muhammad Ali: King of the World."
